Type 86 is a two-bedroom penthouse flat. It is the layout of the penthouse flat at the exposed end of Speed House, facing the (original) Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Type 86 is almost identical to the two Type 61 penthouse flats at either end of Defoe House. Being at the end, the extra wall of windows gives scope for more rooms, than the penthouse flats with only windows at front and back. The living room takes the central position with the windows looking east towards the Barbican Centre. There is a bedroom at either side.
