We no longer have chamber pots under our beds, but we still feel there is something distinctly low rent about having to open our bedroom door and tip-toe down a corridor to go for a pee. So it is a necessary sign of affluence to have an ensuite bathroom more-or-less inside your bedroom.

It should be en suite, but developers always use ensuite, so I am going with the flow. (Sorry for that.)

These are the bathtime rules for Blake Tower apartments.

• Bathrooms – ensuite or otherwise – have a shower, a WC, and a basin, but usually not a bath.

• No one-bed flat has a bath.

• The 2-bed and 3-bed apartments which do have baths are in Flats 2, 34, 44, 54, 64, 74, 82, 83, 92, 93, 102, 103, 122, 123, 132, 133, 142, 143, 152, 153, 161, and 162. (In flats 34, 44, 54, 64 and 74, the bath is in the second bathroom, and it is the ensuite which has the shower.)

• All other flats have shower units only.

• Of the 39 1-bed flats, 34 do not have an ensuite bathroom, but five do. They are: Flats 11, 14, 24, 141 and 151.

• All 2-bed flats have an ensuite bathroom, except Flat 2 on the ground floor which has two.

• The six 3-bed flats have two ensuite bathrooms except for Flats 142 and 152 which have only one each.
