Type 7.2 Frobisher Crescent, Barbican Estate

Type 7.2 is the building’s typical two-bedroom flat layout, and it is the most frequently found flat type on the 7th floor of Frobisher Crescent. The 7th floor is the two-bedroom floor. There are two front-to-back segments on either side of the entrance. You enter the hall of the flat from the outer corridor. On one side are two bedrooms, one facing onto the corridor and the other one facing over the Sculpture Court. There’s a windowless bathroom in between. Turn the other way, and you enter the open plan living area. The flat’s kitchen is on the outer side with a window onto the corridor. The living room has windows over the Sculpture Court. Since it is quite a long room, the developers decreed that the end nearest the living room should be called a dining area, and if you want to clutter it with a huge table, that is entirely up to you! Sometimes you turn right from the hall to enter the living area, while some flats are mirror versions and you turn left.

Type 8.2 on the 8th floor is similar, but with slightly larger rooms, but there are fewer such flats on that floor.
