There is only one Type 8.1 flat, which is on the 8th floor on the very western end of the ‘horseshoe’ of Frobisher Crescent, near Shakespeare Tower. The whole of the end of the horseshoe is one 31ft room with windows on three sides, which is the big attraction of this flat. The kitchen is at the west end of the space. The rest of the open area is notionally divided up as a dining area and then a living area at the east end, looking over the Sculpture Court. The main entrance and hall is beyond the kitchen. Off the hall is the bathroom and three bedrooms (one with an en suite bathroom).
The Type 8.1 flat is very similar (in mirror) form to the sligthly larger Type 8.11 at the other end of the ‘horseshoe’, which has two rather than one en suite bathrooms. (The Type 8.1 flat is virtually identical to the Type 7.1 flat immediately below it on the 7th floor.)
