Type 1C is the main Barbican flat type found on the ‘C’ side of Cromwell and Lauderdale Towers in the Barbican Estate. Flats of this type always have flat numbers ending with ‘3’.
Type 1C has a living room, a dining area, four bedrooms, (5/6 rooms) a kitchen, a utility room, a bathroom and WC, and a shower room and WC. Type 1C has a large living area opening onto a rectangular balcony space. In addition, the flat has a dining area which extends into – and also has a door onto – the balcony. And it has a particularly well-proportioned main bedroom.
In Cromwell Tower, Type 1C flats have rooms along the west-facing side, and balconies looking south. In Lauderdale Tower, they have rooms along the east-facing side, and balconies looking south.
