'The country in the city' was put forward as an ideal by the Roman poet Martial round about the time the Romans were building the 'barbican', the fort from which the area takes its name. I think he would be impressed with what living in Frobisher Crescent will have to offer.
The Barbican has some fabulous gardens. No other estates in London have such lavish gardens. They are private - you need to be a resident to get in - and we even have our own lake and waterfall. You can very happily stroll round Speed Garden, have martinis in the 'igloos' set in the lake below Andrewes House, have a candle-lit picnic in Thomas More Garden with your friends, or visit the even more secluded area near the London Museum and watch the ducks scouring the rushes in the lake. Even on the podium level itself there are marvellous flower beds and a charming and secluded garden in the square. It's a great environment. You can live in the Barbican and really feel you have left the city well behind you.
