The Heron

The Heron is a new block of flats rising (as I write in 2011) on the site of what was formerly Milton Court in the Barbican Estate – the former morgue, in fact. It is a development by the Heron Group to designs by David Walker Architects. It should be completed by 2013. It will be a 284-flat, 36-storey tower next to the Barbican Estate on Silk Street. At the base will be new facilities for the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, designed by RHWL Architects, including a 608-seat concert hall and two theatres. Above there will be studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom flats and penthouses – 284 flats in all. King Sturge and Alan Selby & Partners are the selling agents. The whole development is intended to be high quality. It will have the entrance lobby and concierge services of a luxury hotel. Flat owners will enjoy the use of club, a lounge, and a gym. It is the most significant residential development in the City since the Barbican itself.

Sales

Sales are shown in reverse order (most recent at the top). If it's the sale of a house, it says "House" and the street no. is its address. Otherwise, it's the sale of a flat and the street no. is the address of the building containing the flat.
