The Type F1A flat must be about the most compact home on the estate. It's a small 'studio' flat with a kitchen, a bathroom, and a room to live and sleep in at the window end. The entrance is off a central spiral stairwell and lift unit. This 'core' takes up one third of the depth of the building, leaving room for an F1A at the front and one at the back. There are 33 such flats in Breton House and 38 in John Trundle Court. They are usually found in a four-flat combination with two Type F2A flats.
