Defoe House holds the two Type 61 penthouse flats. They come at either end of the block, where the extra wall of windows gives scope for more rooms. The living room takes the central position with the windows looking east towards Smithfield or west towards the Barbican Centre and lakeside terrace. There is a bedroom at either side. The single Type 86 penthouse in Speed House is very similar.
