Type 35

The Type 35 flats are penthouse duplexes - they're on two floors at the top of the building. There are 9 in Gilbert House, 5 in Mountjoy House and 7 in Seddon House, the east-west-facing terraces. The lower floor is basically rectangular in shape. There's a bedroom on one side, next to an L-shaped living area, which widens out to take in all the window frontage. The portion in front of the kitchen was designated as a dining area by the Barbican when they designed them. The central part of the living area is double height. Stairs at the back lead to a landing which looks down onto the living area, with a bedroom on one side and a bedroom and a second bathroom on the other side. In addition there's a roof patio.
